Organ transplantation is seen as the only treatment for liver and heart failure and the best treatment for end-stage kidney disease. For organ failure patients, transplantation radically improves the quality of life and is a cost-effective treatment. Currently, in Kenya, we are limited to, related living organ donation because we do not have a clear legal framework for deceased organ donation. There is a need to instill an organ donation culture backed by an efficient and effective system that will ensure affordable, safe, fair, and accessible transplant services to those in need.
