  • To-date NCDAK has supported the creation of a national movement of stakeholders including PLWNCDs support groups
  • Through funding from Parliamentary Initiative Network (PIN), hosted the Parliamentary briefing on effective engagement of legislators in NCD action – facilitated some improvement in funding allocation by Treasury to support the NCD Division of the MOH
  • With funding from World Heart Federation (WHF), we hosted the first consultative forum on Mainstreaming Rheumatic Heart Disease in Healthcare Services in Kenya
  • MOH and NCDAK are working closely to launch the NCD Inter-sectoral Coordinating Committee (ICC)
  • Launched the campaign “Small Steps Big Win” in 2015 with the aim of of raising public awareness on the increasing prevalence and burden of NCDs in the country
  • In 2017, partnered with Safaris Ltd. to develop FAFANUKA, a mobile platform that hosts facts on NCDs


Launch of the EA NCD Charter in Kigali
Hosted a multi-stakeholders workshop in Nairobi which brought together bio-pharmaceuticals and PLWNCDs on ensuring easy and affordable drug access
Lobbied for Global NCD Alliance to support 3 PLWNCDs and 2 NCDAK staff to attend an advocacy and communication training in Geneva
Possibly future collaboration with the County First Lady Association through capacity building and knowledge dissemination
Conceptualized concept bills on alcohol amendment on advertising and Sugar tax on SSBs after a meeting with the Senate Health Committee May


Convened a regional conference on NCD prevention and care in Kigali
Assessments and capture of thoughts and views in various counties in Kenya and report on findings through “Our Views Our Voices” Project in April
Participated in the 2nd Global NCD forum in Sharjah on advocacy for PLWNCDs
Awarded a 5-year licence by Communications Authority of Kenya to develop “Fafanuka”, a mobile-based platform on NCDs
