The message was clear .

We, people living with Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), must not be defined by our illnesses. We are
defined by our strengths. We are individuals with rights, needs, hopes, responsibilities and aspirations. We
have the right to lead productive lives and contribute to the development of our country.

“We demand that county governments include NCD in their health budget”

“We also need active registries to capture how many we are,”

“NCDs are more than just numbers, NCDs affect people! People with NCDs matter! The subtle stigma associated with NCDs does not allow people to be open about their conditions”. Dr Kibachio Joseph, DNCD, MOH
