NCDAK Structure
NCDAK provides an oversight, technical and strategic direction through activities conducted by NCDAK member organizations targeted at individual, community, county, national, regional, and global levels, as appropriate.
NCDAK has 3 levels of governance: The General Meeting, Board of Directors, and committees of the Board.
The Board is the planning and policy-making body of the organization which controls and approves all activities performed by the Executive Committee. It is mandated to ensure that the organization is guided by its vision, mission, core values, guiding principles, and objectives in its operations.
The Board ensures that the organization operates within its mandate, preserves its values, and operates as a responsible and respected corporate citizen. It is comprised of our member organizations.
As mandated by the Board of Directors, the role of thematic subcommittee is to review legislation, policies and practices pertaining to each theme to make recommendations to the Board on the policy interventions to be made.
The Sub-Committee meetings are conducted periodically during which members of the subcommittee share their opinions, suggestions and insights on existing national or county legislation and regulations concerning their specific thematic area, thus make recommendations on national policies and practices regarding each of these thematic areas.
The subcommittees are composed of member organisations of NCDAK, and other partners associated with areas of community and public outreach
- Advocacy and resource mobilization committee
- Risk factor reduction and healthy environment committee
- Health system re-orientation and universal health coverage committee
- NCD research evidence and surveillance committee
The Secretariat is responsible for administrative and executive services for the NCDAK, and implementation of NCDAK’s projects, programs, policies, and activities.
